Help a Participant get to a job interview or go to work
When someone leaves a New York State prison, they are given a train ticket and $40. Often they do not even have the money to purchase a subway metrocard to get to our offices for workshops, to a job interview, or to work before they receive their first paycheck. Unfortunately, due to our tight budget, we have to ration our metrocards and consequently are forced to turn down some needy participants. If you would like to donate to help us provide metrocards to participants, write that in the memo of your check or in the “Designation” section in the online donation form.

Support the Entire Exodus Model
It is a wonderful feeling to know that your donation enabled someone to begin a new life by helping them get to a job interview or to work. However, the support we provide would not be possible without our ability to pay for more mundane purchases like electricity, heat, rent, or staff salaries. While we would be thrilled if you decide to help us provide much-needed Metrocards for participants, we hope you will also consider a general donation to support all of the work that we do.
