Edward's Story

At 19, Edward was sitting in his cell facing nine years on a gun charge.  He said, “God, if you get me out of this one, I’ll turn my life around.  And if I don’t, you can send me back on this charge.”  Four days later Edward was out of jail and back to his old habits when he ran into Exodus Director of Field Operations, Mark Graham.  Mark told Edward about his own prayer in a jail cell 25 years earlier.  “God, if you help me out of here, I’ll change my ways.”  Mark was released and one week later was arrested and then sentenced to 20 years.  Edward saw his future in Mark and  made a sincere vow to change.  Exodus helped him find a job.  He has since earned an Associates Degree and is working on his B.A.  He has two jobs and more importantly, a future.
