Director of Youth & Family Development
Ramon first learned of Exodus while serving time at Sing Sing Correctional Facility, where Julio Medina was his professor. In 2014, Ramon joined the Exodus team, and his reason was simple: “This is the most important work you can do.” Ramon leads our youth empowerment programs, which include ARCHES, NextSTEPS, and Common-Unity. He designs curricula, facilitates group sessions, meets individually with program participants, manages our youth mentors, organizes activities and outings, and advocates on behalf of the young adults in our programs. Ramon is consistently the last person to leave the office at night, and when he’s not at the office, he can be found promoting our programs and building coalitions at events across New York City. He was awarded the Frank and Lisina Hoch Award in 2014 for his outstanding commitment to the organization. Ramon holds an Associate’s and Bachelor’s degree in Behavioral Science from Mercy College, and a Master’s of Professional Studies from the New York Theological Seminary.
