"To provide supportive services to formerly incarcerated men and women in order to help them reintegrate into their communities thereby achieving social and economic well being and breaking the cycle of recidivism."

A Unique Approach to Re-entry
Exodus Transitional Community, Inc. is a faith based organization which utilizes a holistic approach to re-entry inspired by the book of Exodus in the Old Testament. Many incarcerated individuals believe that once they leave prison, their problems are over. In truth, like the ancient Hebrews in the book of Exodus, they will more likely be wandering in their own personal wilderness – struggling with financial, family, and social issues – before they reach the “promised land” of full re-integration into society. The Exodus Model is designed to provide the support they need for successful re-entry and to break the cycle of recidivism.
Exodus Contract
To combat the hopelessness and despair of the early post-release period, the Exodus service model is focused on guiding participants toward concrete accomplishments to demonstrate that they can take controlof their future.  The strategy we use to achieve this objective is our service plan – The Exodus Contract.  The Contract leads participants to set goals and develop plans to achieve those goals in employment, education, family/relationships, spirituality, health/physical fitness, and community involvement.
During the five-day program orientation, in addition to employment readiness and job search training, new enrollees participate in workshops focusing on each of the life areas of the contract.  Our objective is to help them set short-term goals so they can experience successes in their lives soon after leaving prison.  Following the workshops, participants are matched with an Exodus Contract Coach who works closely with them on an ongoing basis to revise their plan and achieve success
