In 2024, Exodus Transitional Community launched the Genesis Mental Health Clinic, a trauma-informed outpatient mental health clinic in East Harlem. Licensed by the New York State Office of Mental Health (OMH), Genesis was established to meet the growing demand for accessible, stigma-free mental health services—especially for justice-involved adults and underserved communities across New York City.

Genesis provides comprehensive outpatient mental health support, grounded in a person-centered, recovery-oriented approach that prioritizes dignity, compassion, and individualized care. Adults aged 18 and older begin their journey with a thorough psychiatric evaluation, followed by a tailored treatment plan that may include individual therapy, group therapy, and family counseling, all delivered by licensed clinicians.

To ensure holistic care, the clinic also offers medication treatment and education, managed by a psychiatric nurse practitioner. Clients can access flexible telehealth mental health services, and a 24-hour crisis hotline is available to provide immediate support during emergencies. For those with co-occurring needs, Genesis provides warm referrals to substance use treatment, primary care, and other supportive services through trusted community partners.
