The Women’s Project
The Women’s Project at Exodus Transitional Community is a trauma-informed reentry program for women and girls ages 15–24 who have experienced incarceration, court involvement, or systemic trauma. As a support program for justice-involved women, it offers a safe, healing space where participants are empowered to move beyond their past and reclaim their futures.
This women’s reentry and recovery program in NYC features an 8-week series of workshops focused on emotional wellness, leadership development, civic engagement, and career readiness. The program combines personalized case management with mentorship tailored specifically to the needs of formerly incarcerated women and system-impacted girls.
Participants also engage in enrichment activities such as the Broadway Monologue Project, college tours, and creative spaces like Chess Club—helping to build self-confidence and connection. Expecting mothers receive additional support through access to parenting resources and health education.
The Women’s Project is led by women with lived experience in the justice system, creating a peer-based environment rooted in compassion, trust, and lasting transformation.
